DESCRIPTION

Cerberus, the three-headed guard dog of Hades, is depicted with a mane of coiled serpents and a serpentine tail. The bird flying above him perhaps represents a flittering soul. Heracles enters the scene on the right but only his club, hands and foot are visible.
