DESCRIPTION
Heracles wrestles the sea-god Triton. The deity has the head, arms and chest of a man and the serpentine tail of a fish. The hero stands astride the fish tail with arms locked around his chest. Nereus, the old man of the sea, grandfather of Triton, watches from the left. The three figures are labelled on the vase.
