DESCRIPTION
Apollo and Artemis rescue their mother from the lustful giant Tityus. The god is depicted as a youth with his hair tied back in a ponytail, a cloak draped over his shoulder and a bow and quiver strapped to his back. He grasps the giant and his mother by the arm. Tityus carries Leto upon his shoulder in his attempt to abduct and ravish the goddess. Artemis, holding a bow, stands before them with one hand raised to arrest the giant.
