River Thermodon
THERMODON was a river-god of Pontos (Pontus) and Assyria in Anatolia (modern-day Turkey).
The Thermodon river emptied into the Black Sea near the town of Thermiskyra, legendary capital of the Amazones. The major neighbouring rivers personified by the Greeks were the Halys of Paphlagonia to the west and the Phasis of Kholkis (Colchis) to the east.
